We have an exciting opportunity for a trainee Heating Engineer to the Heating team. Alongside the Gas Safety Supervisor and the Heating Engineers you will learn to carry out annual gas safety checks and the servicing of gas appliances in accordance with safety regulations and companies requirements. You will also undertake all manner of installations, including a range of general repairs and maintenance tasks on heating and hot water appliances and systems within occupied and void properties, ensuring work is completed to a high standard. 

Objectives of this role

  • Learn to carry out annual gas safety checks and servicing of gas appliances in line with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Develop practical skills in heating, hot water, and wet works installations.
  • Support experienced Heating Engineers and the Gas Safety Supervisor in delivering high-quality work.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high professional standard.
  • Build strong customer service skills while working in occupied and vacant properties.

Skills and qualifications

  • Willingness to complete required training and qualifications for the role.
  • Previous experience working with customers.
  • Basic experience using hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Full, valid driving licence.

Preferred qualifications

  • Previous or current exposure to the plumbing and heating industry.
  • Strong interest in building a long-term career in heating engineering.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and follow instructions accurately.
  • Motivation to learn new skills and work in a practical, hands-on environment.
  • Ability to work in occupied properties with professionalism and discretion.
