We are currently seeking an HSE Supervisor (MVK) on behalf of one of our industrial clients in the Amsterdam region.

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) activities on site, ensuring that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with legal and company standards. You will act as the first point of contact for safety on the work floor and play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture across the project.

This position is ideal for an MVK-certified professional who enjoys being present on site, working closely with operational teams, and making a visible impact on workplace safety.

Objectives of this role

  • Ensure safe working conditions on industrial sites through daily HSE supervision.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with Dutch HSE legislation, procedures, and site rules.
  • Identify risks early and support continuous improvement in on-site safety performance.
  • Act as a visible and approachable HSE point of contact for site teams and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily HSE activities across industrial project sites.
  • Monitor compliance with HSE legislation, internal procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, safety rounds, and toolbox talks.
  • Identify unsafe situations and behaviors and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support and advise supervisors, contractors, and employees on HSE-related matters.
  • Assist in incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions.
  • Ensure correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Contribute to HSE reporting and participate in site safety meetings.

Skills and qualifications

  • Valid MVK certification (Middelbaar Veiligheidskundige).
  • Experience in an HSE or safety supervision role within an industrial environment.
  • Solid knowledge of Dutch HSE legislation and safety standards.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence safe behavior on site.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented working style.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining a strong team player.
  • Good reporting and documentation skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working on complex or high-risk industrial sites.
  • Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and contractor management.
  • Confidence in conducting toolbox talks and site briefings.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
