Objectives of this role

• Provide strategic HSE leadership across complex industrial project sites.
• Ensure full compliance with Dutch HSE legislation, industry standards, and client requirements.
• Proactively manage risks and drive continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.
• Strengthen safety culture by coaching teams and advising senior project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate HSE activities across multiple industrial project locations.
• Advise project management and stakeholders on HSE strategy, risk management, and compliance.
• Review and approve risk assessments, RI&E documentation, method statements, and permits to work.
• Supervise, coach, and support MVK-level safety officers and site supervisors.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning.
• Monitor HSE performance, KPIs, and reporting structures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a strong safety culture.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and management reviews.

Skills and qualifications

• Valid HVK certification (Hogere Veiligheidskundige).
• Extensive experience in a senior HSE role within industrial environments.
• In-depth knowledge of Dutch HSE legislation and best practices.
• Proven ability to advise senior stakeholders and project leadership.
• Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Experience managing audits, investigations, and compliance programs.
• Proactive, authoritative, and solution-driven mindset.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience leading HSE teams on large or complex industrial projects.
• Strong coaching and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on site involvement.
• Excellent command of Dutch and English (spoken and written).
• Experience contributing to long-term HSE policy and culture development.
